Mrs. Kenefick's Crafts: Learn the Alphabet and Phonics by Creating Letter Crafts
This class teaches the alphabet, phonics, and letter sounds by creating letter crafts. Letters transform right before their eyes as they turn a letter into something special. We discuss words with the same beginning sounds. Letters are fun!

Is your little one learning their alphabet? Do they like crafts? Do they need a fun review of the alphabet and letter sounds? Then I have a class for you. Learning the Alphabet and Phonics by Creating Letter Crafts is a fun crafting class where your little one will take an ordinary letter and "magically" watch it transform before their vary eyes into something special. We will make the capital letter on one day and the lowercase letter on the other day. Some weeks we may create something that...
The learner will recognize letters of the alphabet. The learner will recognize letter sounds. The learner will practice listening. The learner will practice following directions.
I am an experienced licensed teacher in Texas. I have taught for 30 years in all subject areas. I am gentle, but disciplined. I truly care about my students and their well being. I am nurturing and I want to see my students succeed. My mission is to: educate and inspire students to strive to be the best they can be. spread a smile and make a change in their little corner of the world. have students be bold in all things. have students ask for help if needed. My goals are to: have strong classroom management. make every learner feel at ease, respected, and wanted as I welcome students into my class. take a real interest in what your child thinks and says. have a successful class meeting your child enjoys, have a class that holds your child's attention, and stays engaged. Why do I teach? I teach because I am a teacher. It is who I am. It is what I do. I love teaching! I want to reach little ones and have them succeed as they venture through their educational journey. What do I care about? I care about the child as a whole; their interests, their stories, their family. I care if they succeed. I aim to make lessons engaging so that "failure is not an option." What is the purpose of my teaching business? The purpose of my teaching business is to not only educate the child, but to help fulfill the needs of the whole child so that they succeed in every area of their life. What outcomes do I hope to achieve? The outcome I most want to see is that the child has felt loved and encouraged when they leave my class. My hope is that the outcome will be the child succeeds by mastering the concept taught. I hope the child has felt uplifted, respected, and had fun learning through an engaging lesson. What is my teaching style? I am a loving, kind, and caring teacher. I love my students. I strive to teach in a manner in which students feel loved, respected, and encouraged so that they will try their best to succeed and work hard for me.
Parents: Please gather materials needed for class.

Some students get so excited and so proud with what they are learning that they just HAVE to show me what they have done. I will gladly take a quick look at their hard work, but I will not take a grade. No grades... No tears...Just good old fashioned fun! The parents sitting with their student just off camera can see if their student is picking up on the skill. I do not do formal or informal assessments of the students progress.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
For my 3 and 4 your old's, I recommend parents sit next to their children just off camera to help make sure they have the right page, stay on task, and to keep them seated and quiet. I love children response. We just need to keep talking to a minimum. This class does use external sources. I use Google Slides in my presentations. All slides are rated G. This resource will only be used as a screen-share.
