In this one-time class, we will be learning about the 5 senses while also strengthening our fine motor skills and penmanship. We'll start by naming the 5 senses, discussing why we need them, and how they help our bodies understand the world around us. Next, we'll play a game involving a Mr. Potato Head and a spinner. Then we'll go on to create our own book about our senses - which will be sent to parents to print out after enrollment. This will require kid scissors and coloring materials....
Students will increase their understanding of the 5 senses, what they do for our bodies, and their corresponding body parts. They will also work on their fine motor skills and eye-hand coordination.
3 files available upon enrollmentChildren's scissors, Coloring materials (crayons, markers, or colored pencils), "My 5 Senses Book" that will be sent to parents after enrollment
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
The Jack Hartman Youtube video will be shown at the end of class as a screen share on my end, and does not require an account to view. This video is used to engage students using another medium of learning.
