When I was growing up, we traveled a lot, and I always looked forward to a new trip because my mother would buy a new stack of books for me. I would sit for hours in the back seat of our car and read. Whenever I ran out of books to read, I would read the billboards and every highway sign very loudly. That was rather tedious for my parents, so I'm sure that's why they always made sure I had plenty of books to read! Combine my love of reading with my experience as a reading teacher and my masters in Curriculum and Instruction, and I believe you'll find that I'm prepared and pumped-up to help your student's reading experience be the best it can be!
I will provide weekly documents, links, etc. These will be in our classroom on the evening before the first day of our school week every week. There is a variety of websites that we may access during our course. Students will need to have a journal for weekly prompts, and they will need to either borrow the book, "Mr. Popper's Penguins" (Florence and Richard Atwater) from the library or purchase a copy.
