Class Experience

Lesson 1: Students are to have read Chapters 1-2 prior to our first class. The students will have the opportunity to read Chapter 3 in class with the teacher and discuss the reality of these crazy possibilities? Would this be acceptable now? They will select certain passages that will defend their views. The teacher will assist with any new challenging vocabulary words to better understand each scene. Did Mr. Klutz actually get on a skateboard and ride it to school? Is there a torture chamber in the basement?

Lesson 2: Students are to read Chapters 4-6. They will analyze the passages while discussing their favorite parts of what they have already read. Would you like a chocolate party? Why would he kiss a pig on the lips? Yuck!

Lesson 3: Students will be encouraged to read Chapters 7-9. They will be able to review in class what we have all read and then evaluate the book while recognizing and recalling facts from the books. What did it take for Mr. Klutz to recite the Pledge of Allegiance on top of the flagpole?

Lesson 4: Students will be encouraged to have read Chapters 10-12. They will be quoting and listening to information regarding Chapters 10-12. What did the students have to do for Mr. Klutz to dress up in a turkey costume and ride a pogo stick down Main Street? Would you ever do that?

Lesson 5: Students will be expected to have finished the entire book (Ch. 13). In this final class, they will apply their knowledge of the book by making their own fun and creative Cereal Box creation!
*Little side note: Our last class tends to run a little late due to the student's cereal box*

I am to provide them a safe and positive environment while discussing important subjects.
I am married with 4 children and have a big Black Lab name Marley who you can meet if you would like. :)
