Class Experience

Description
Class Experience
We will read through and discuss different literary themes of The Titan's Curse, as well as look into the actual Greek Mythology some of the characters are based upon.
Each week the students will be given a set amount of chapters to read before class (at least 5 per week, roughly 10-15 pages per day)
-We will start each class with a fun Kahoot, as an assessment on the weeks required reading.
-It will be a mixture of minimum lecture more of a facilitation of discussion about the book. We will have games, slides, video clips.
-No real required prior knowledge, but students will need to read the first 5 chapters of the book before day 1 (if you don't have time read what you can and jump in for week one)

Parental Guidance
The book contains some fantasy violence, much like the other 2 books. There is also a play on the word dam (when the students visit a dam), like it were a curse word. Teacher expertise and credentials
I have 10 years teaching experience. I taught for 4 years in Texas for a traditional "brick and mortar" and have taught the past 6 years in a virtual environment in Tennessee. I have been certified to teach Middle School in both Texas and Tennessee.

When I became a teacher, I made the commitment to be the teacher I always wanted; an engaging teacher that connected with students and had fun while doing it. I love using humor and music in my class, and really enjoy helping students learn to love to learn.

I have 10 plus years of video-making experience and have made several parodies for the schools I have worked for to help engage students to content or just for fun.
