Students will complete an interactive notebook to record their learning about the civil rights movement in the United States.
I have been working with bilingual elementary children for more than 13 years in public schools. I especially love to teach reading, history, and science. I like to make my classes fun and memorable for my students.
We will be completing an interactive notebook. Students will need a notebook or binder to contain their work. I will be sending pages to be printed each week in order to complete the activities so you will need access to a printer. Students will need scissors, glue, colored pencils, or crayons.
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
While these topics could be a bit controversial, this class will be presenting factual information from the time period. However, these do include protesting, mistreatment of others, and assassination. I will not be going into deep details on the difficult issues, but they will be presented. Students will use scissors, glue, and brad brads for some of the interactive elements. Parent supervision may be required. (You may also choose to use a stapler on the planet flipbook for durability.)
