In this 10 week class, each week students will be given a movie making challenge to complete. They'll learn Storytelling, filming and editing!
Class experience
Do you want to make movies? Do you own an iphone or iPad or other device and want to learn how to use it to make movies? Do you want to learn how to be a storyteller behind the lens? In this 9 week class: Students will learn how to develop a story for film Students will be introduced to filming with an iPad /Iphone Students will learn how to edit clips on movie editing apps of their choice Students will learn how to create special effects with things they have at home Each week students...
Students will become comfortable with the filming medium and feel confident creating their own stories and videos. Students will develop a movie making vocabulary that allows them to explain what they want when it comes to making movies Students learn how to support one another in the learning process. Students will see how versatile the art of movie making is and maybe one day choose to use movie making as an additional source of learning
I am an arts therapist/intermodal and teaching artist in all modalities . I'm also a homeschooling mama to 3 and have used movie making as a medium for learning at home! It is a wonderful medium to use to engage kids in learning in a multifaceted way. Technology is a way of the future ... let's teach our kids how to embrace it for their own expressions!!
iPhone or Ipad or other device iMovie, Filmora or other editing app of your choice Possibly a Stop Motion app ... they are generally free apps and I can suggest one as the time comes Other than that ... whatever the students decide to use for their projects! If they are serious about movie making A device compatible microphone A triod (You can always make doing without these ... but they can be very helpful! )
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
