Hello, and welcome to the Harry Potter movie fan club! I find discussing a movie or book with after watching it allows for a deeper understanding and analysis of the material. In this course, we will be able to reflect on each of the Harry Potter movies with other learners to gain different perspectives of what we watched that week. Discussions will include themes, character development, color/emotion, structure, etc. In this 8 week multi-day course, we will be watching all the Harry Potter movies in order followed by discussion in class. I will have prompts to lead and encourage active discussion in class. There will not be a strict direction for discussions each week, we will have prompts to keep discussion going but it will be a free and open discussion among learners. Week of 3/1: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone Week of 3/8: Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets Week of 3/15: Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban Week of 3/22: Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire Week of 3/29: Harry Potter and the Order of Phoenix Week of 4/5: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince Week of 4/12: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1 Week of 4/19: Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 The class will restart after the 8 weeks elapse. Each class will go as follows: Welcome/Intro Discussion Prompts Some weeks will include Harry Potter themed games Predictions and thoughts for following movie Outro I'm excited to get started and watch these classics with learners! Learning Goals
In this course we will take a deep dive into Harry Potter movie and character analysis. Students will also work on their speaking and listening by analyzing and open discussion on what makes each movie of the Harry Potter series so great.

Parental Guidance
We will be discussing a movies, so learners will need to have read and/or seen them before class to avoid spoilers and to participate in the discussions related to characters and events.
