How does an actor get a role on a movie? Why were certain actors chosen for particular roles? What is casting and how does it work? All great questions that will be explored in this one-time class. This class will focus on the casting process and give a step by step breakdown of what happens once a movie is greenlighted by a production company and the casting process begins. The following key players will be explained and discussed: The Talent, Talent Agent and Casting Director. The students will follow a real-life example of how the lead role in Spiderman Homecoming was cast in order to understand how casting works. This class is an informational and interactive class that will follow a power point presentation with pictures and fun slides, mixed with questions for the students to answer throughout the class. At the end the students will do an activity where they will have to become the casting director of their own film and cast various roles. I try to make my classes fun, informative and interactive so the students will enjoy what they are learning. I love spreading knowledge about the film industry and it's always a fun topic. No prior knowledge is needed for this class. This class is great for anyone who loves movies and TV shows, have an interest or curiosity in the film industry or just want to learn something new. See you in class!
