Class Experience

***This class is part of the Movie Bites - Young Storytellers and Aspiring Moviemakers Series. These classes can be taken in any order and are designed to celebrate and encourage big imaginations. Very my full profile for details on other Movie Bites classes.***

Much like comic strips, storyboards allow us to tell a story through the use of picture images.

In this interactive class, students will explore the art of storyboarding for filmmaking. Using Star Wars and Zootopia as our examples, we'll discuss cinematic elements, play a Simon Says relay game that teaches shot sizes, practice outlining the core events of a story, and create a visual storyboard for each student's very own movie idea. No drawing experience necessary.

Class Structure:
*Lesson: Visualizing Your Story using Pictures
*Game: Simon Says Shot Size Relay
*Writing Exercise: Shot List Story-Mapping
*Art Activity: Creating Your Film's Fantastic Storyboards

Movie Bites Learning is a welcoming, diverse and inclusive environment. Big imaginations, high energy, shy learners, and wigglers are always encouraged. The club provides a variety of ways for students to engage with the lessons so that different learning styles are respected, supported, appreciated and celebrated.
