***This class is part of the Movie Bites Learning - Young Storytellers and Aspiring Moviemakers Series. These classes can be taken in any order and are designed to celebrate and encourage big imaginations. Very my full profile for details on other Movie Bites Learning classes.*** If movies take us on a journey, then their story structure is the road map. Designed for young storytellers and aspiring screenwriters, this creative writing class uses the lens of moviemaking to teach story elements (character, setting, plot, conflict, resolution) and 3-Act Structure (beginning, middle, end) to even the most reluctant writers. Students will watch a short animated film, play a zany game of storytelling Mad Libs, and learn how to use the SSWBSF (Somewhere, Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Finally) story-mapping strategy to strengthen their writing skills. Class Structure: *Welcome & Introductions *Lesson: Story Elements, Narrative Arcs and 3-Act Structure *Game: Screenwriting Mad Libs *Writing: Map Out Your Very Own Film's Story Structure *Sharing: Idea Celebration Movie Bites Learning is a welcoming, diverse and inclusive environment.
