Students will increase their understanding of storytelling, art and film language through games, crafts and activities.
Hello! I am a parent, film director and film professor with over 20 years of production and classroom experience. I have a BFA in Studio Art and an MFA in Film Production. Sharing my love of film and art with young, aspiring storytellers is my life's passion.
No homework required, but some students like to take their time and are welcome to work outside of club meeting times.
Note: No video camera or editing equipment is required for this class. Students will be participating in art/writing activities and games where they will learn about different areas of moviemaking (screenwriting, art direction, cinematography, sound, movie poster art and more). Supplies will be kept simple to make it easy for families to have on hand: drawing supplies, paper, pencils, pens, markers, sharpies, common household items, etc. Handouts related to the week's lesson will be provided before each class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
55 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
