Class Experience

In this class, I will guide the students through exercises and activities based on P.E. standards designed specifically for this age group!  I will incorporate activities that boost brain development by getting the kids to work both their bodies and brains.  In some activities, I will even find a fun way to add in academics!  Who says you can't do jumping jacks while also reviewing Math facts?  As a certified teacher, I will incorporate both academics and fun facts with movement. 

   I will also incorporate social emotional topics, usually during the warm up or cool down.  Students will also have an opportunity to respond and reflect through optional writing activities at the end of the cool down activity, which will often be related to social emotional topics.   Their is a very big movement in Education towards incorporating Social Emotional skills within both Academics and P.E.  In this class, I aim to incorporate a social emotional topic within each lesson.   So come and join me for this fun class with a highly experienced and certified teacher!

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Please have students exercise in a clear and open space, wear proper shoes, and keep a water bottle nearby. As safety is a top priority, adult supervision is required for this class in order to participate. Thank you!

I am a certified Early Childhood-6th grade teacher.  I have worked in both Public Education and for private companies for more than 10 years. In the past, I led an exercise program for kids called "Girls On the Run".  The mission of this organization was to boost self-confidence and create positive body image through both lessons and an exercise program that led to a final race.  I am also a life-long athlete!  In High School I participated in Varsity Track, Cross-Country, and Tennis.  I went on to complete a full year of marathon training as an adult.  Fitness is a big part of my life, which is why I love to share it with others!  I am currently in the process of obtaining my P.E. certification to add to my existing certifications.
