What's included
2 live meetings
1 hrs 30 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
We will meet twice for this painting class. Students will learn how to mix, blend, and manipulate watercolor paints in these classes. There will be no pencils used, instead we will use only paintbrushes! Students are taught through guided-demonstrations, where they watch the teacher then perform the step/steps onto their papers. Week One: We will discuss the fundamentals of working with watercolors and observe a few landscape paintings by Bob Ross for inspiration! Students will work on creating atmospheric perspective with color blocking the background (sky, mountains, water). Week Two: Students will learn how to mix their watercolors to create a natural palette for their painting. Trees, mountains, and various other details will be added. Adding a few items in the foreground will be our finishing touch! Students may ask questions as needed. At the end of each class, students are encouraged to share their artwork. *No prior knowledge/experience is required.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to manipulate watercolors to mix colors and paint using techniques such as wet-on-wet/wet-on-dry.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Texas Teaching Certificate in Music/Theater/Arts
Hello parents and students!
I love to use a variety of media to keep the creating process fun and exciting. Some of the media we will use are: pencils, markers, crayons, colored pencils, oil and chalk pastels, acrylic paint, watercolors, pen, and more!
I graduated in 2014 from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a BSED in Art Education and a Dance Minor in Choreography. I have experience teaching every grade level from Pre-K through 12th grade in both Kansas and Texas. Some of the courses I have taught are: Elementary Art, Drawing and Painting, Sculpture and Ceramics, and also Intro to Art. This is my 8th year teaching art in a public school setting.
Scaffolding the necessary skills for learning art such as problem-solving, collaborating, and self-reflecting are woven intricately into my teaching. When producing my own artwork, I often find inspiration in flowers/nature.
I also have two large Newfoundland dogs (Bruin & Orso) and love to take them for walks when I am not busy teaching. You might even see them say "Hello!" during a class or two! I look forward to seeing you in my classroom!
"Creativity takes courage." -Henri Matisse.
