Back and white will be your friend.Class Experience
Students will have a unique, hands on experience, as they create a Dot painted Mountain picture, this will take 6 weeks. I lead by example - students will follow along as I teach the dot painting process. This will be demonstrated in a step by step instructional manner. I will be showing how to use the tools to paint this way. We will be learning about paint texture, depth and contrast. What is done by taking this course will open up a whole new way to paint. This is an all inclusive community as such, the pace will be set by the students. This a more advanced dot painting class as students will be drawing a mountainthe use of much more detail and also the drawing of the mountain scene. Students can use the idea of the one I have shown or something very diffrent. The plan is to work on sky, mountains and the area up to the mountains. The colours will be very impotant to feel the depth of the landscape. As we go through this there is no right or wrong. Week 1) Students will need to have canvas painted black at least one day in advance. Then we will use a chalk pencil to draw the mountian. We will do the first level of dot painting to the sky and mountains. There will be homework to be done before the next class, this will be talked about during the class. Week 2) Students will show the homework they were asked to do and review if the upper part of the project is done. We will then talk about the colors in next area, and the size of tools. Homework will be assigned as paint needs to dry before we can move on. Week 3) Students will show the homework they were asked to do and review if the upper part of the project is done.
