Dear parents and learners, Thank you for your interest in my class on self-motivation and goal setting In this class we will learn about SMART goals, common misconceptions about self-control and self-motivation tips. In addition, we will also explore our deeper motivation to understand our goals. In order set goals and stick with them, we need to understand what we really want in the grand scheme of things and the near future. Both are essential in goal setting. Motivation is like a muscle with which we can exercise. This means that we can train ourselves to become stronger with time and practice. I believe that learning is all about acquiring the right tools, knowing how to use them and become a critical thinker. Once the students have the right foundation to become a critical thinker, they can apply their knowledge across settings and disciples. In this class we will look at: - Getting ready to set goals - Misconceptions about self-control and motivation - The grand picture and the details of our motivation - Different senses of well-being and their roles in our mindset - Types of goals for optimists and pessimists - SMART goals and self-motivation tips - Practice together In the end of the class any student can bring forth a context that interests them and we can set the goals together. Participation is encouraged so feel free to ask any question throughout the class. For this class, students are not required to have any specific prior knowledge on the subject. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to communicate with me. Warm regards, Louisa

Dear parents and learners,
With a strong interest in child development, I have worked on multiple education-related studies at McGill and the impact of using videoconference at Laval University.
My passion for making learning engaging and accessible, led to my founding of ChessLingo—an initiative that combines my love for chess and languages to foster cognitive development, strategic thinking, and cross-cultural learning in children and youth. Equipped with scientific knowledge, I have strong observational skills and flexibility to adapt my teaching style and curriculum to work with students from different cultural backgrounds and needs. I believe that learning is supported through intrinsic motivation and a growth mindset. The best way for knowledge to stick is by having fun and real-life applications. My vision is for my students to become independent learners and be able to improve their own study plan according to their strength and weaknesses.
