It's time! Time for a lot of fun in class with Mother Goose, my pet goose Lucy and other nursery rhyme friends. In this 25 minute class, your 3-5 year old will be having so much fun with Mother Goose (me!), and all of the fun props I bring to the lesson, they won't even realize how much they are learning about math! During this ongoing class, (that you can continue on week after week or withdraw at any time as you desire), we'll be covering math preschool topics such as: numbers...
Students will learn number recognition and writing up to 10, skip counting, basic addition and subtraction, telling time with a digital and analog clock by the hour and half hour and counting on minutes and beginning geometry skills such as shape recognition, describing lines and curves of shapes, patterns, drawing lines and curves, creating pictures with shapes, finding shapes in our world.
Students will need colored construction paper, crayons or markers, a glue stick, soft clay, salt, a cookie sheet or some type of tray or box lid to put salt on, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks, some type of counter toy (small plastic bears, small building blocks, etc), and safety scissors as basic supplies which will occasionally be used during our circle time. A dry erase board and marker is helpful, but paper and crayons can always be substituted for any learners as needed.
50 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
