Class Experience

This is a morning meeting read-a-loud of the book "The Trouble With Dragons" by Debi Gliori. I will be reading the book aloud for students to listen to as a good way to start the day. Students will need to be able to sit and listen to the book and at the end we can discuss our favorite part of the book as a whole group. Each child will get the chance to share their favorite part. I have experience teaching the young pre-school/pre-kindergarten age and always loved morning circle time and reading stories to start the day.

The summary of the book is " The trouble with dragons...everything! From chopping down forests to wasting food, the dragons are making an absolute mess of the planet. Their careless ways could spell the end for Earth- unless they can find a way to turn things around."

Learning Goals

Students will listen to a book on how we treat the earth and what we could do to make it better.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi!!! I have been teaching since I was 18. I started in a day care setting until I finished my degrees. I have taught everything from 2 year old to Pre-K all the way to upper level math courses. But my love has always been Algebra. I currently teach Special Education math in a high school and recently added tutoring elementary math.

I truly believe ALL STUDENTS CAN LEARN!!! No one can ever take away an education from someone. How each person learns is their unique way and its ok to take your time as long as you keep trying. That goes from the tiny humans all the way to adults. I strive to make sure that every student walks away understanding more then they started with and sometimes you can have fun doing it.

I am a huge Disney fan and crafter and love when I can incorporate my creative magical skills into everyday learning.
