Class Experience

Morning Motivation is a virtual "Homeroom" class that focuses on Social Emotional Learning and bringing positivity to the start of the day in a safe environment. This meeting time gives students an opportunity to connect with other students and have monitored social time in a virtual setting. If you are looking for a way to bring a little extra positivity to your morning, give this class a try!

Students will learn various social emotional skills to implement and leave class prepared to enjoy the day ahead!

Learners will use pencil, paper, and Nearpod. While each of these will not be used during every meeting, please have them nearby throughout the week.

In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:Nearpod

40 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.

This class may include the use of an external resource called Nearpod. It is a resource that helps to make virtual classes very interactive, allows the teacher to review learners' responses and activities in realtime, and provide learner's with feedback during our live session. 

If you have not used it before, please follow the instructions below.

1. Before class starts, go to https://nearpod.com/student/ and have this tab open on your device. 
2. Your learner will receive a Nearpod code during the start of the live class. This code will be placed on the screen for easy viewing. 
3. Click the Nearpod tab on your device and type the five letter code given and click JOIN.  
4. "Welcome To Your Lesson" page will appear. 
5. Type your first name and click "Join Lesson". You do not have to type a nickname. It is optional. 
6. You have now entered the lesson and are prepared for our live class. 

Additional Information: Learners can use the same device or a separate device for Nearpod. This is based on the learner's and parent's personal preference.
