Class Experience

This class is designed to provide a homeroom environment for children who are learning from home.
We will cover:
* Greetings/Introductions (as necessary)
* Calendar
* Math topic (such as skip counting or place value)
* Daily Oral Language (Often abbreviated as D.O.L., this activity reviews rules of grammar and mechanics by correcting errors in a sentence or short passage.)
*Vocabulary activity
* Student Presentations (I will suggest a topic and students may either show and tell or prepare a short speech. How often students are asked to present will depend on the number of students in the class.)
*Short story

I will present the information through a slide show and students will interact with each other while discussing topics and when taking turns for their presentations. The short story will be our last activity, and may be eliminated or cut short on days when student presentations take more time.

Since this class is designed to range between 1st and 3rd grade, topics will be a review for some students and an introduction for others. I am choosing topics that typically require a lot of review for mastery.
To be successful in this class, students should be comfortable reading short paragraphs, count to 100 independently, and recognize all numbers through 100.
