Meditation can help kids cope with stress. It can help them find a balance within themselves. There are several benefits to mediating such as: Better sleep Reduced anxiety level Improved self-esteem Ability to focus and study Reduced levels of stress In this class, students will mediate through listening to meditative music and relaxing. I will walk them through the steps of relaxing and focusing on their breathing. Throughout the process students will be told to think positive thoughts, think of things that makes you happy, and to remember things that makes them happy. We will be sitting and laying on the floor, it might be best for students to attend class with a yoga mate or a blanket. At the beginning of class, students will have the opportunity to share, What makes them happy. The first few minutes class, we will discuss the meaning of mediation. We will then begin to practice mediation. At the end of the class, students will share different ways that we can cope with stress.
Learning Goals
The goal of this class, is to teach students how to use meditation to cope with stress, depression, anxiety, and to increase peace within.
