Did you know that there are plants that eat animals? Welcome to the world of carnivorous plants! In this class students will be introduced to different types of carnivorous plants: butterworts, monkey cups, cobra lilies, and more! Throughout our class we will explore, discuss, and answer these questions and others: Why do these plants capture bugs and small animals? How do they lure and trap their prey? How do the plants "eat" the animals? Don't forget to bring your own...
Students will be introduced to more carnivorous plants- bladderwort, cobra lily, and others. Students will learn how each plant lures, traps, and digests its prey.
1 file available upon enrollmentPlease print the provided plant cards. If you do not have access to a printer you will need 5 index cards. We will use the plant/index cards to play a learning game during class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
