Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Did you know that there are plants that eat animals? Welcome to the world of carnivorous plants! In this class students will be introduced to different types of carnivorous plants: butterworts, monkey cups, cobra lilies, and more!

Throughout our class we will explore, discuss, and answer these questions and others:
Why do these plants capture bugs and small animals?
How do they lure and trap their prey?
How do the plants "eat" the animals?

Don't forget to bring your own wonderings and questions about carnivorous plants!

This is the second class about carnivorous plants, however students do not need to classes in consecutive order. The first class focuses on the venus flytrap, pitcher plants, and sundew plants.
Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to more carnivorous plants- bladderwort, cobra lily, and others.
Students will learn how each plant lures, traps, and digests its prey.
