Join Amber-Loo as we explore the history of sanitation development in London. This class is a virtual adaptation of the London Loo Tour and London Fart Tour. Yes, both are REAL tours that you can take when you visit London. The London Loo Tours have been running since 2012, and thousands have enjoyed walking around London to learn about the history of the toilets, the sewers and the people who developed them. In 2017, Amber-Loo wrote the Fart Tour -- which celebrates everyone's favourite body function by exploring fun facts and historical figures who attempted to make farting part of their life in some way. Take a virtual toot through history. This is a cross between a history class and a virtual tour! Perfect for students without any background knowledge, geared to make history fun and interesting. In addition to lots of facts, students are encouraged to take notes or make drawings to reinforce learning. At the end, a review will help students recall the facts they have learned in the class. The instructor will teach using discussion, slides, images and an interactive map. Students are encouraged to ask questions along the way.
Learning Goals
* Students will travel through time to learn about fantastic fart facts in history
* Students learn about the farting courts of Queen Elizabeth I and Queen Anne
* Students will discover several historical figures who tried to make farting better
* Students learn at least 10 other words for "fart"

Teacher expertise and credentials
Originally from Texas, I moved to London in 2001 and my first job was as a double-decker bus tour guide. From there, I studied and worked in London, and created a tour guiding business specialising in providing tours to families who want to get the most out of their vacation. I have over 15 years experience as a qualified tour guide for the City of London, Westminster, Camden, St Paul's Cathedral and Guildhall Art Gallery. (I hold an official badge for each of these areas/locations.) I also hold a teaching qualification for further education. My presentation style is dynamic and fun, always keen to find hidden and unknown stories of the past. Each corner of London has an incredible history to tell. On my tours, I dress in costume and use storytelling to bring history to life. Due to the pandemic, many of my tours have transformed to online presentations, and I am still able to reach customers from all over the world. London Loo Tours is a joint venture between myself and my two friends. We have been guiding toilet-themed tours in London since 2012, have tons of 5star reviews on Trip Advisor, and have been featured in press around the world.
