My Guitar class is organized to teach a new chord or two each week With each new chord we learn, we will apply this to a new song that we will work on as a class. Each student will watch the example I play and will have the opportunity to repeat it. Proper fingering is a major concern and will be disccused. I will go from learner to learner and help with the chord shapes and strumming. We learn how to properly count rhythms as well The counting of a measure in music is explained for all instruments. We learn to read a simple "Lead Sheet" with chords and lyrics, often use in sheet music published world wide. The learner will also learn to write his own "Chord Grid" for each chord. Chord sheets and songs are sent each week via pdf files. I like to keep the style relaxed but focused on the proper playing and strumming of the guitar. All you need is a six string acoustic guitar. This is a follow up to "Fun With Guitar Course #1"
Learning Goals
We will be adding the keys of D and E in this class.
Chord's are the harmony a composer uses to support the melody of a song.
New chord shapes in the first position will be discussed.
