Class Experience

I welcome learners of all identities and backgrounds into my classes.

This course is an extension to my Introduction to Beginner Course. We will learn some new songs, as well as adding more left hand chords to our previous songs.
Now that the students are already familiar with the notes on the keyboard, and how to play some basic songs , we will begin adding left chords to accompany the right hand melodies.
Students will get a better idea of how to play with two hands together, and how to play some fancier rhythms.
We will focus on melody, harmony, and keeping a steady beat.
I like to bring out the creativity and individuality of each unique student. This class will nurture the musical style and flavor of each student's personality.
This course will prepare the students for Extension Class #2 or for One-on-one lessons.
Learning Goals
Students will learn to keep a steady beat, while playing a melody.
Students will be able to play chords in the left hand, while playing a melody in the right hand.
Students will get a feel for their own self expression and unique musical personality.
Students will learn a bit about musical form and how songs are structured.
Students will be introduced to the main chords in the key of C major, and be able to switch between them.
