Class Experience

The names of Polish months are unique in the way that Poland did not adopt Roman names – like many other countries in Europe (France, Germany, Russia). Original, non-Latin names for the months of the year also exist in some other languages – like Czech, Croatian, Lithuanian or Basque. But this is rather an exception than the rule. The months names are related to the farmers calendar through the year. The class will be taught with Google slides to show words, correct pronunciation and pictures to describe sound. Each student will get a chance to pronounce after me and I will correct and help throughout. No prior knowledge or experience is required.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Lisa and I am so excited to be your student's teacher. I hold a TESOL and TEFL Certificate, I have been teaching ESL for way over 10 years to both children and adults and online since 2015. I have taught thousands of classes to young Chinese students and I have tutored English. I am a patient, hands-on teacher and love demonstrating concepts for my students, if a difficult situation arises I will look for a way to make sure the student leaves understanding and satisfied.
I grew up in a bilingual home here in Canada and we spoke both Polish and English growing up and over the years added Spanish. Learning multiple languages is a great tool for world travelers, and it is a fantastic tool to stimulate your brain. I love languages and cannot wait to share this passion with you!
This class will be conducted in English, students are encouraged to speak slowly and clearly so that everyone can follow along. Because this class is based on learning a new language, students are required to have a working camera and microphone.
Along with Polish 101 classes I plan on teaching culture, travel, food, art, Spanish 101, conversational English classes and lots more... I am a fun and energetic teacher and love bringing my energy into the classroom. I think it is so important for students to enjoy the learning process. That is why I am looking forward to seeing you in my classroom!
