Class Experience

Show off that voice!

To commemorate the milestone of teaching 300 private students, I am delighted to introduce a special class that provides a safe and nurturing environment for students to explore and share their talents. In this class, students will embark on a journey to acquire the fundamental skills necessary to become proficient singers. Whether you are a beginner or have some prior experience, this class aims to equip you with the knowledge and techniques to develop your singing abilities.

Understanding how to sing correctly is pivotal for singers of all musical genres. By learning proper vocal technique, students can perform with excellence while minimizing fatigue and potential damage to their voices. The aim of this class is to provide a solid foundation that supports singers in their pursuit of any musical style.

To apply the knowledge gained during their private lessons, students will have the opportunity to choose and sing a song that they have been working on and perform it with a karaoke track. This practical application enables students to not only understand the theoretical aspects but also integrate them into their own performances. Each month, we will focus on nurturing the growth of the student's voice through a variety of different methods.

Over the next few months, we will explore the following techniques:

Week of July 1- Breath control and support: Mastering the art of diaphragmatic breathing and understanding how to control breath for sustained and powerful singing.

Week 2- July 7 - Vocal warm-up exercises: Incorporating a range of vocal warm-up routines that enhance flexibility, range, and overall vocal health.

Week 3- July 14- Articulation and diction: Focusing on pronunciation, clarity, and effective communication of lyrics through vocal articulation exercises.

Week 4- July 21- Vocal resonance and projection: Discovering techniques to optimize vocal resonance, enabling the voice to project and carry with strength and clarity.

Week 5- July 28- Performance techniques: Exploring stage presence, connecting with an audience, and honing the ability to deliver an engaging and captivating performance.

Throughout the class, I will provide individual attention and constructive feedback to support each student's growth and development. Join me on this exciting journey of vocal exploration and discovery as we unlock the potential within your voice and nurture your passion for singing.

This class is geared toward former and present students of Ms. Jessie. However, new students are welcome to join as well. Private lessons are strongly encouraged but not required.
Learning Goals
The class aims to foster a safe and supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and sharing their progress. Individual attention and constructive feedback will be provided to support each student's growth and development.

Ultimately, the goal of the class is to provide students with a solid foundation in singing and instill in them a lifelong appreciation for this art form. By the end of the class, students should have a strong understanding of singing techniques, the ability to apply these techniques to their chosen songs, and the confidence to continue their vocal development independently.
