Teacher expertise and credentials
🌺Hi, I'm Tyra Clark-Bey. But the children call me Teacher Ty. I've acquired my master's degree in Elementary Education (K-5). I am certified in the following areas: Early Childhood Education (ECE), ESL (English as a Second Language), Special Education, TESOL and (Teaching English as a Foreign Language). I have been a teacher since 1994 and recently retired in 2019 to work from home full-time.

Over the years, I've taught preschool, kindergarten, 2nd grade, ESL, Special Education Assistant, substitute K-12, worked with children with behavior and social challenges as well as helped to support parents by providing educational advice and recommendations. Yes, that's right, I am a family builder. (smile) I can not teach without the love and support of families. I value and need you, the family. Family support is the reason a child succeeds in life. I provide a DPR (Daily Progress Report), a teaching strategy that allows me to communicate regularly with families and caregivers about children's progress and room for improvement.

My virtual teaching adventure began in 2015 as an ESL tutor. After 4 years of teaching ESL online, I decided to teach full-time. I truly enjoy seeing children have fun while learning.

Stuart Brown, M.D., and Christopher Vaughan founder of the National Institute for Play have a statistical and philosophical beliefs that I follow. And that is, children learn more when they are having fun. In my classes, EVERYONE IS INCLUDED. I enjoy including fun rewards and providing immediate positive feedback to students and parents/caregivers.

I am looking forward to meeting your little angels,

Tyra Clark-Bey,
M.Ed. Elementary Education & ECE
