Homework
❤️ Complete the word lists before or after class if you prefer! 🖨️ I provide two PDF dotted-font word lists for guided writing and visual copying on the Monday before the session. 📝Complete the lists on an iPad with a stylus pencil, or print the PDFs and complete with a marker, pen or pencil. ✍🏽Enrolled learners receive my brief video about how to achieve a comfortable and efficient pencil grip.

Class Experience

US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
Beginner Level
❤️ This one-time class is designed for young learners who already know most phonetic letter sounds, can 'sound out' simple phonetic words, yet have difficulty identifying b/d. They can write letters in lowercase print, with a dotted guide as needed.

❤️ CLASS CONTENT: Each 45-minute session has individual attention, using the mute/unmute button to help learners focus and enjoy full participation!
Via screen-sharing:
1️⃣ 🎶We sing an original ABC sound-song with a slideshow. After the song, I teach a handy way to remember how to identify 'b' and 'd' by using fists and thumbs - they're always with you!

2️⃣ 🖼️ I introduce eight colorful photos of things that begin with /b/ focusing on names and descriptions.

3️⃣ 📝 Using the dotted-font word list provided, I demonstrate writing each word twice while saying the letter sounds/names

4️⃣ 📖 Learners take turns to read a label, use their word in a sentence, and observe as I match each label with a picture. Fun discussion is included!

5️⃣ 🖼️ 📝 📖 We repeat the same process with another 8 photos that begin with /d/: introduction, writing, reading and discussion.

6️⃣ 🎉 I guide a fun cooperative BINGO game, emphasizing picture description, conversation and letter sounds.

😊 My teaching style is warm, attentive and patient. This class is similar to a Montessori classroom experience; a small group of mixed-age learners with a shared enthusiasm for vocabulary, letter sounds, conversation, and learning to read!
