Welcome to our Montessori Preschool Curriculum online class, a dynamic and engaging program designed for young learners. Meeting twice a week, this class provides a nurturing environment where children can develop essential life skills and sensory awareness through hands-on activities. ✨We are proud to be the first and only accredited Montessori school on the Outschool platform, featuring certified teachers who bring their expertise from our brick-and-mortar school located in Ontario, Canada.✨ 𝗖𝗨𝗥𝗥𝗜𝗖𝗨𝗟𝗨𝗠 Our weekly schedule is thoughtfully crafted to provide a well-rounded educational experience. On Mondays, we cover Practical Life topics, focusing on activities that promote self-care, environmental responsibility, and social skills. On Wednesdays, our Sensorial sessions help children sharpen their senses and begin to understand geometric principles. By alternating between these two areas, we ensure that each child receives a balanced education that supports their overall development. 🅜🅞🅝🅓🅐🅨🅢 Practical Life Practical Life exercises are fundamental in helping children develop independence, fine motor control, and coordination. These activities include care of self (like dressing and hygiene), care of the environment (cleaning and organizing), and lessons in grace and courtesy. Through these tasks, children also build concentration and learn the importance of focus in completing tasks. 🅦🅔🅓🅝🅔🅢🅓🅐🅨🅢 Sensorial On Wednesdays, we shift our focus to Sensorial activities, which are designed to refine the five senses. These activities include exercises that enhance the sense of touch, taste, smell, hearing, and sight. For example, children might explore different textures, identify various sounds, or engage in tasting sessions that introduce them to a variety of flavors. Sensorial work also includes an introduction to basic geometric concepts, helping children distinguish between different shapes and sizes. 𝗖𝗟𝗔𝗦𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗖𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘 Each session will begin with a brief lecture on the day's topic, providing children with a clear understanding of what they will be exploring. The teacher will then demonstrate the materials or worksheets needed for the activity, showing step-by-step how to complete the task. Following the demonstration, children will have the opportunity to try the activity independently, while the teacher observes and provides real-time feedback. This hands-on approach ensures that children learn through experience while receiving the support they need to succeed. Our teaching style is fun, engaging, and productive. We believe that learning should be an enjoyable experience that stimulates curiosity and a love for discovery. By creating a positive and supportive atmosphere, we aim to keep students motivated and eager to participate. Students will have ample opportunities to interact with the teacher and their peers throughout the class. The small group setting ensures that each child receives personalized attention and has the chance to actively participate in all activities. We incorporate a variety of teaching methods, including interactive games, discussions, slides, and occasional video clips, to make lessons dynamic and relatable.
Learning Goals
Children will learn to perform everyday tasks independently, fostering a sense of self-reliance and confidence. These skills will empower them to take initiative and manage their daily activities with minimal assistance.
Children will develop better coordination and control of their body through various activities. This will enhance their ability to perform tasks smoothly and efficiently, contributing to their overall physical development.
