Our Grade 4 English writing class improves their writing skills. Students will focus on creating impactful writing that grabs attention and leaves a lasting impression. They master idea organization and write strong introductions and conclusions. They will learn to anticipate opposing viewpoints and counter them thoughtfully to strengthen their arguments. ✏️ 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗶𝗽𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀: Students will focus on enhancing their descriptive writing by using sensory language (sight, sound, touch, taste, smell), precise adjectives, and figurative language (similes, metaphors) to create vivid images and evoke emotions in their readers. They will practice incorporating rich details to bring their narratives to life. 𝘾𝙇𝘼𝙎𝙎 𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙐𝘾𝙏𝙐𝙍𝙀 The class will begin with foundational lessons on organizing ideas and using linking words. Students will then progress to practicing different types of introductions and conclusions through guided exercises and writing prompts. The focus will shift to developing arguments by stating opinions clearly, supporting them with evidence, and addressing counterarguments. Finally, students will learn to enrich their writing with descriptive details, focusing on sensory language and figurative expressions. My teaching method will involve a combination of direct instruction, collaborative activities, and individual writing exercises. I will provide clear explanations and examples of each writing skill, followed by guided practice where students apply what they've learned. I will also provide constructive feedback will help students refine their writing further. My teaching style emphasizes engagement and active participation. I encourage students to express their ideas freely and ask questions to deepen their understanding. Lessons are designed to be interactive, incorporating discussions, group work, and hands-on activities. Students will have many opportunities to interact with me through class discussions, small group activities, and one-on-one feedback sessions. I foster an environment where students feel comfortable sharing their writing and receiving constructive criticism. This interaction promotes growth in their writing skills and confidence in expressing their thoughts effectively.

Parental Guidance
Parental guidance and support may sometimes be required to supervise young learners. We may need help using various stationary items (i.e., scissors, stapler etc.), or preparing materials before class.
Supply List
A weekly material list will be provided to you prior to class, in preparation for the following week of classes. Learners are responsible for having the listed materials on hand and printed worksheets ready. If learners are missing a material, alternative suggestions can be provided. Classes will typically require commonly found household items or stationary such as: pencil, eraser, highlighter, scissors, stapler, glue etc.
