US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 2
The Montessori Math materials were designed for the students to use their hands and body while working with them. The mathematical exercises progress from concrete to abstract, taking one small step at a time to help children build on their knowledge. During the first class we will get to know the student's starting point for the class. Then we will work together on Math concepts using Montessori materials and adapting to the student's mastery of each skill. You have the choice of purchasing the recommended materials or creating your own using the provided printables. The length of the class can be adapted to the student's needs. Depending on your child's starting point the following topics might be covered: -Making ten with the Snake Game -Negative Snake Game -Skip counting -Static and dynamic addition and subtraction with the Golden Beads material. -Static and dynamic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with the Stamp Game. - Static and dynamic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division with the Bead Frame. -Fractions -Basic Geometry

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree in Music or Theatre or Arts from University of Puerto Rico
As a Montessori guide I teach every subject to my students. I'm most passionate about Social Studies (geography, history and culture), science, and music and art appreciation. I also enjoy teaching Spanish, reading, practical life skills, cooking, and dance. I have a bachelor's degree in Theater from the University of Puerto Rico, where I joined the traveling theater troupe and appeared on many TV commercials. At the age of 16 I was already a professional backup dancer for many pop singers in the island. I was able to travel the world and truly enjoyed learning about different cultures. When I moved to Florida with my husband, I became a dance and theater teacher. But when our son was born, I switched to Montessori, since that was the philosophy and education I was raised in. I got certified in 2014 by AMS, the American Montessori Society, as an early childhood guide (Ages 3-6) and in 2022 by NAMC as a lower elementary guide (Ages 6-9). I also immersed my self in Conscious Discipline and giftedness. I always make sure to follow the child.
