Description

Class Experience

Learners will master
- addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division facts,
- moving from concrete to abstract in the operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division,
- linear counting work,
- understanding the equivalencies of fractions,
- and geometric terminology.
I've taught pre-school and elementary school classes with hands-on math throughout my career. I love interacting with young learners and making sure that their learning is meaningful!
Learners will be given pdf work cards, links to printables, or individualized topics to work on in the time between classes.
Materials may include (depending on level): golden bead material, stamp game, small and large bead frames, fraction materials, geometric cabinet, checkerboard, snake game, charts for addition/subtraction/multiplication/division, and bead stair / decanomial box.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Informal assessment as they complete assignments and display understanding.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
This is a Montessori approach to elementary math.

About Me

What kind of teacher am I?

I believe in meaningful, student-led education. Learning is fun when it has meaning to YOU. Children are wired to learn. They are constantly trying to figure out the world around them. I view my role as that of a guide...
