Discover the magic of Montessori-style education in this weekly art club. Each class will allow learners to create a fun drawing and learn different basic art elements such as line, shape, color and color theory, and texture. Learners will practice these elements with a tutorial led by the teacher. After the tutorial, learners create an artwork with the element. They will also exercise important social skills through talking about their art and taking turns.

Alongside the basic art elements the learners will be shown real-life examples of how those elements occur in nature, are implemented by artists throughout history, and how they are used in different art styles.

🌟What is Montessori Education:
A system of education for children that seeks to develop natural interests and activities over formal teaching. The Montessori Method is based on self-directed activity, hands-on learning and collaborative play.

📋Class structure:
- Learners check in
- Art element introduced
- Tutorial of how to draw the element and practice
- Learners create their own drawings using the art element
- Learners share their creations

Classroom Environment:
Learners are encouraged to ask questions throughout the lesson via the microphone or the chatbox. During the art element tutorial, learners are welcome to hold up their drawings for gentle feedback. For classes with more than 3 students, the learner’s microphones will be muted during the tutorial to avoid background noise. Once the tutorial is finished the learners will be encouraged to unmute themselves and chat as they create. Teacher will check in with the learners periodically during the open drawing time to see how they are doing.
