US Grade Pre-Kindergarten - 1
This is a hands-on class. No experience necessary. The Montessori land and water forms are taught in pairs as part of the geography curriculum. First, we will have a discussion while looking at pictures of island/lake, gulf/bay, cape/peninsula, isthmus/strait and archipelago/system of lakes. Then we will build some of the pairs with brown or green play dough (in small containers). To finish we will pour water in the containers and review the names. This activity also strengthens fine motor skills. Please look at the materials list and make sure to have them ready before class starts.
