In this 6-week course, students will learn how to identify and use each part of speech using the Montessori grammar symbols. This visual approach makes it easier to remember patterns of words so that students can write better sentences.
Class experience
**** THIS IS A FLEX VERSION OF MY LIVE 6-WEEK COURSE AND THERE ARE NO LIVE MEETINGS. **** In this 6-week class, we will be learning all about the 9 main parts of speech using the Montessori approach for grammar, with a Minecraft theme. This approach includes learning and using symbols to represent each part of speech, so that they are easier to learn and identify, and the stories behind each of the symbols which gives the learner a richer understanding of the origin and function of that word...
Students will learn about all 9 parts of speech. They will be able to identify them in a sentence and use them to create better sentences of their own.
I am a qualified Montessori Elementary (Primary in the UK) teacher, certified to teach 6-12 year olds. I have taught students within independent schools in the UK, and also taught small groups of homeschooled children who were aged 6-9.
Students will preferably have an additional device to complete the Nearpod and GooseChase challenges, and students will be given the access code to join in our Outschool classroom. GooseChase is used for the homework challenges, and students will need to take pictures to upload for the missions I set them. There will be an optional worksheet to print off each week which will be uploaded to our classroom area. Students will need the following colours of pen or pencil - black, light blue, blue, red, orange, pink, green, purple and yellow/gold to complete the worksheets.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:

- GooseChase
- Google Slides
GooseChase and Nearpod will be accessed in this class. You will need to download the GooseChase app and you can also download the Nearpod app or access it online.
