Description
Class Experience
In this multi day class, learners will have the opportunity to learn about the composition of the layers of the Earth’s atmosphere (troposphere, stratosphere, mesosphere, thermosphere, exosphere ) through a series of student centered, artistic and play experiment activities. After taking a few minutes for introductions and reviewing the class rules, we’ll have a lesson supplemented with Canva slides that teaches us about each layer of the atmosphere and how it helps our planet. Students will improve their understanding of the 5 layers of the atmosphere through a series of hands on, creative activities.
Learners will be completing projects individually.
Learners will be provided with PDF attachments which will be used for follow up activities. Students will need the following supplies: Colored construction paper Scissors Magic markers or colored pencils A glass jar or tall, clear cup Measuring cup and several small containers A small amount of dirt Honey Corn syrup Dish soap Water Food coloring ( optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parental guidance is recommended for use of scissors.
