Montessori 3D Shapes: Geometric Solids

This is an interactive class. First, I will show the actual Montessori Geometric Solids (3D shapes) and name them. Sphere, ovoid, ellipsoid, square base pyramid, triangular base pyramid, cone, cylinder, cube, rectangular prism, and triangular prism. Then, learners will take turns with a Jamboard game where they will review the names of the 3D shapes. After the game learners will participate on a scavenger hunt, where I'll ask them to find home items with the 3D shapes to confirm that they understand how the shapes look in real life. To finish, we will work together on three cut and paste worksheets which I will make available for printing in the classroom page a few days before class. This lesson is part of the Montessori Sensorial curriculum. To participate learners should already master the basic flat shapes (Triangle, square, circle, rectangle, oval).
