Class Experience
Is your young Spanish-speaker ready to explore word recognition? This class--led 95-100% in Spanish--is designed for young children who are already advanced* in Spanish and just ready to start learning to read. Familiarity with letter names and letter sounds and the digits 1-6, will help, but they may or may not feel confident in these yet. This class is taught in Spanish.
I received a minor in the Spanish language with my bachelor degree (2011). Later, I went on to complete the seven-week, level-five Spanish course at Roca Blanca Spanish School in Catalotepec, Mexico (2018). I have taught group Spanish classes to a variety of ages over a span of five years, four years of which were online. In 2018-2019, I led a preschool co-op in Spanish, primarily to children who were already fluent. Additionally, I have been raising my children primarily in Spanish since 2016.
After class, learners will receive a copy of the book we read in class to practice further outside of class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
