Description
Class Experience
Students will learn about the unique adaptations deep sea creatures have evolved to survive in a unique habitat and will gain a greater appreciation for the diverse array of life that calls the ocean home.
I am a graduate student in Marine Biology. I graduated summa cum laude in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, and I have worked in several marine laboratories doing both laboratory and field work. I have engaged in science outreach and education since I was in high school and have been tutoring STEM courses for over 4 years. I have experience working with students of all ages.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Some animals may look a bit scary but nothing is too graphic. We may loosely discuss topics such as predation and mating strategies but not in detail. There may be videos of animals hunting but nothing that shows blood or gore.
