Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! I am so excited to share my love of learning with you!
I live in North Carolina with my two kitties (Lily & Potato) and am originally from Upstate New York. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration in English. For the last few years, I have been teaching ESL with VIPKID (an online teaching platform) to students (ages 3-16), mainly located in China. I obtained a TESOL Advanced certification and have acquired a variety of useful e-learning techniques throughout my career. I also have experience teaching in a traditional classroom setting with preschoolers, kindergartners, 1st graders, and 2nd graders.
Aside from teaching, you can find me in the Blue Ridge Mountains hiking, kayaking, camping and sightseeing! I am so thankful to live in such a beautiful area full of colorful wildlife and endless possibilities. I also really enjoy volunteering at my local animal shelters and farms. When not outdoors, I enjoy whipping up healthy meals, cozying up with a good book, dancing with my cats to our favorite tunes, or getting lost in an intriguing documentary.
The immense joy and gratitude I feel for being a part of your little one's learning journey is immeasurable. Each young learner enters the classroom with something worth contributing and brings their own unique perspectives and valuable personal experiences. Likewise, I will be adapting my teaching strategies and methods to your child's individual needs and strengths. I intend to incorporate a variety of subject areas throughout my English classes. Most importantly, I strive to teach fun, interactive, creative and educational lessons that build the same love of learning that I've carried throughout my life.
As you are your child's first and most valuable teacher, I am honored to have the opportunity to partner with you! Please feel free to reach out with any questions or requests you may have. I encourage you to check back from time to time, as I continue to develop new courses. You are also welcome to follow my profile in order to get updates on new course availability and scheduling!
