Students will learn about different cultures through their stories of monsters and legends. Students will be able to use logical thinking to discuss the stories and tales. Students will be encouraged to think outside of the box and use their imaginations.
I teach many similar classes and I find that it truly isn't a good fit for everyone but there are some students who are searching for this kind of class.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
This class is about monsters. People will die. Monsters are, by their nature and intent, scary devices to control people and get them to follow the customs of certain groups. Monsters have also been used to keep people safe from making common mistakes. This class is NOT a good class for all students. Students should already be fans of: horror and scary stories, supernatural tales, and mythology. This class is not a good fit for students who do not like the above. This class will be scary and sometimes gory.
