Class Experience
Is your child a fan of Monster Jam or Blaze and the Monster Machines? Then this is the class for them! In this class, learners will become scientists and engineers while playing with their monster trucks! The goal is to apply STEM skills while having fun. Each student will be given “homework” to create a ramp for their monster truck using whatever materials they have available at home. After a brief show and tell with their favorite monster truck, each child will test the travel of their...
Students will learn how changing the incline of a ramp will impact the speed and distance their monster truck will travel. They will apply the engineering design process to alter their ramp to increase travel distance.
Students will build a simple ramp before class using any available materials.
Favorite monster truck toy, preferably not a pull-back or remote control truck
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
25 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
