In this class, learners will be writing a monster story! This class will focus on writing details about a character that they create. The learners will also be guided with effective ways to develop characters for their stories. At the beginning of class, learners will be drawing a colorful monster that they create. Next, learners will be engaging in prewriting activities to develop their characters. At the end of class, learners will be writing a story about their monster. They will use the ideas they had from their prewriting activities to write their character details. The learners will be encouraged to include as much detail about their characters as possible. If time allows, learners will get the opportunity to share their story with the class.

Students will improve their ability to write a character profile for a fictional character.
