Class Experience
Each session, students will come away with a better understanding of the topic of the week and some strategies for using the introduced skill in real life situations.
As a mother of 4 children with special needs, I have a lot of experience working with children on life skills and social needs. I am also a certified Special Education teacher and have taught children life skills and social skills for the last 24 years. I have worked with a variety of diagnoses, including: autism, ADHD, traumatic brain injury, Down Syndrome, intellectual disability, specific learning disabilities, and more.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
There are monsters utilized in the lessons, but these monsters are cute and silly, so should not frighten students. However, knowing children on the autism spectrum can perseverate on specific topics or items, parents should be aware that these characters will be in our lessons. Please contact me if you need to see an example.
