Description
Class Experience
This class is designed to be a fun experience drawing mash-up monsters, where learners get to collaboratively decide what their mash-up monsters will look like and then at the end of the game see how all of the different monsters that learners have drawn share the same attributes (number of eyes, horns, other features like fangs and fur, etc.) but are unique creations of their own. We'll talk about different examples of monsters, emphasize that not all monsters are scary -- some are fun and...
Learning goals include hearing and repeating numbers, thinking creatively about different attributes of monsters, realizing that not all monsters are scary, using other monsters as examples (Monsters Inc. etc.), group social interaction, as well as penciling, line work, and basic color theory.
No homework!
Paper and pencil, and anything else the learner likes to create with, such as markers, crayons, watercolor, digital art media, etc. Any size or type of paper will work!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No assessment -- only to have some fun drawing silly and fun monsters!
35 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
