Monster Hunter Adventure Quest (RPG)
Class experience
Each class students will go on an in depth investigation of monsters and troublesome mythological creatures. Together we will compare monsters found in cultures around the world, and study the similarities and differences. Students will hypothesize why these monsters came to exist in these societies. In the process they will gain experience points, and strategize how to defeat the monsters to become the ultimate Monster Hunter! This class will be designed in a very interactive video game...

Learning Goals By the end of this class, students will be able to: - Identify 10+ monsters and their characteristics - Discuss the locations and societies where these monsters are found. - Evaluate the dangers that these monsters pose. - Describe differences and similarities between various monsters. - Strategize and work with a team to problem solve - Overcome fears of monsters. - and much more..
I have spent 6 years as a professional teacher and professor. I have an MA in education. In childhood I was afraid of everything, until I started learning about mythology and discovered monsters are fascinating!
Homework Offered
A list of possible assignments will be given. Students will be given the option to pursue whichever assignments they like. Completing assignments will give them achievements and xp (experience points) that will help them to level up in their quest to be the ultimate Legendary Monster Hunter!1 - 2 hours per week outside of class
Assessments Offered
Students will be assessed on XP or experience points. These directly correlate to varying levels of expertise at the “guild”. They will gain XP through class participation, assignments, answering questions, helping others and pop quiz style “battles”.Grades Offered
