Class Experience

It can be tricky for young actors to find age-appropriate monologues that aren't overdone, which also showcase their individual personality. This one-on-one session with NYC-based Broadway, TV, Film actor of 27 years will provide both context and new pieces catered to each learner's needs.

Upon enrolling, students will receive a questionnaire to help the instructor pull four to five pieces custom-tailored to their age, type, personality and intended use. Ahead of the session, the instructor will pour over dozens of monologues and cull appropriate pieces together in a file just for the enrolled learner, within 24 hours of the session. Together, we'll talk through the given circumstances in the play or film, and find a piece that resonates with the young actor emotionally. We'll then dissect a chosen piece into units to help the performer craft a compelling performance!

This course is designed as a precursor to a private lesson with this instructor, for students who would like to revamp their repertoire book with pieces from notable works. Students seeking pieces for high school or college auditions are encouraged to provide the specifications of those arts institutions in advance. Let's arm you with the perfect piece!
