Class Experience
Understanding financial concepts and how to look at money management as a necessary skill to learn
As a Canadian CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® Professional, "Mrs. Alyx" (Alexandra (Alyx) Valdal) is passionate about financial literacy for the next generation! Teaching kids about money is so important for establishing good habits and understanding that money is just a tool to be used. Mrs. Alyx has lived and taught different subjects in Canada, England, and Japan. She has taught learners from age 2 to 72 from preschool to college courses and loves engaging with excited students. In her Outschool classes, Mrs. Alyx helps learners reflect on their own money values through talking about needs and wants and how money can work in our lives, now and in the future.
Recommended additional 10-15min after each class for follow-up learning

Demonstrated application of the concepts, through sharing examples of their own money management plans.
40 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
This class uses screenshare and optional learner self-directed Nearpod use (Nearpod.com). Youtube videos will be shared - in class and as an additional resource via the Outschool classroom. No accounts are required, for either resource.
