Following our friend Amari, who just got a paper route, we’ll learn about key financial literacy topics such as the value of money, saving and investing, and money management. Topics covered: *Value of money/what things cost, needs & wants, getting a job/starting a business (earning money) *What is a budget? Decision-making and goal planning, keeping track of expenses *Recognizing fraud and other financial issues Earning income is one of the best ways for children to learn the joys of having their own money - to save, spend, and make plans. Over multiple sessions, learners will learn how our fictional friend starts earning money, and how planning financial goals sets important foundations in place. Learners will be guided through quizzes and activities. Mrs. Alyx is a CFP professional and Financial Advisor who has taught money and finance classes from preschool to College level. This class is suitable for learners from anywhere in the world.

This class uses screenshare and optional learner self-directed Nearpod use (Nearpod.com). Youtube videos will be shared - in class and as an additional resource via the Outschool classroom. No accounts are required, for either resource.
